The 5^th Annual General Meeting of The Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka- Qatar chapter
was held at Concorde Hotel Doha on 25^th January 2019.

Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, who is the Director and Chairman of the Postgraduate Institution of Management - University of Sri Jayawardenepura and also the honorary president of the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) - was the chief guest of the event.

The gathering started with the welcome speech given by the outgoing chairman of IESL Qatar Chapter C.Eng. Jagath Gunasekara. Following the speech “A flashback of Qatar Chapter last year” - a video which was prepared by Eng. Shakeel Badurdeen was presented by the outgoing chairman of IESL Qatar Chapter C Eng. Jagath Gunasekara. The presentation conveyed the progress of IESL Qatar Chapter in the year of 2018.

After the induction session of new Office bearers for the session 2018/2019, a speech was delivered by the newly elected chairman Eng. Kamil Ariff. Then the financial statement for the past year was presented by the treasurer of the IESL Qatar Chapter Eng. Mohamed Irfan. Further an Interactive session with Qatar Chapter engineers was held in an effective manner with the active participation of all the members.

The motivational speech on triple P “3p” (purpose, passion & performance) was given by the chief guest Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri which was a highlight of the event. Motto of the speech was - failure is a fertilizer to success.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by the newly elected Secretary Eng. Prabuddha Lokuliyanage which was then followed by the fellowship and dinner.

The following office bearers for the upcoming year 2018/2019 have been elected during the event.
